Beginning in 1946, Edward Woodward has enjoyed a long career in stage productions, films, and television series. In film, his most famous performances were his lead roles in The Wicker Man (1973) as Sergeant Howie and in Breaker Morant (1980) as Lt. Harry "Breaker" Morant. In addition to his accomplishments in theatre and film, he is most well known for his lead roles in the British television series, Callan (1967-1972), and the American television series, The Equalizer (1985-1989.) It was the latter that really grabbed this webmistress' attention as he played the impeccably cool, well-dressed, and articulate (what a voice!), ex-spy, Robert McCall.

On 16-NOV-2009, Edward Woodward died in hospital at age 79 after suffering from various illnesses including pneumonia.
